Der Frühling ist da, die Tage werden länger und die Nächte wärmer. Wir lieben diese Zeit! Frühlingsgefühle werden geweckt und langsam beginnt auch die Hochzeitssaison! Vielleicht seid ihr auch schon auf die ein oder andere Hochzeit eingeladen, aber sucht kein 08/15 Hochzeitsgeschenk, sondern etwas, das noch lange in Erinnerung bleibt? Oder ihr heiratet sogar selbst und wollt euren Tag unvergesslich machen? Dann haben wir hier die passende Idee für euch: ein Überraschungskonzert zur Trauung.

Vergangenen Sommer haben Nicole und Fritjof geheiratet und wurden an diesem Tag von ihren Freunden mit einem Musiker überrascht. Wir haben nachgefragt, wie es war und fanden ihre Erzählungen und die Bilder ihrer Vintage-Hochzeit so wundervoll, dass wir sie gerne mit euch teilen wollen.

Nicole kommt aus einem kleinen Dorf in der Nähe von Bremen und lebt seit mittlerweile 7 Jahren in Hamburg. Als Hochzeitsfotografin hat sie schon viel gesehen und erlebt – für sie stand daher schnell fest, dass sie Fritjof in einer freien Trauung das Ja-Wort geben möchte. Nicole, Familienmensch und durch und durch Romantikerin, wählte zusammen mit Fritjof das idyllische Bauernhaus ihrer Eltern als Hochzeitslocation. Die freie Trauung wurde im nahegelegten Wald gehalten. Beides Orte, zu denen sich Nicole und ihr Mann tief verbunden fühlen.

Wir treffen Nicole in ihrem kleinen aber feinen Atelier in Hamburg – man merkt sofort, sie hat ein Händchen für die schönen Dinge im Leben.

„Es war ein wundervoller Sommertag und ich war von Kopf bis Fuß verliebt. Hand in Hand gingen Fritjof und ich gemeinsam mit unseren Liebsten vom geschmückten Landhaus Richtung Wald, wo die Trauung stattfinden sollte. Getraut wurden wir von einer sehr engen Freundin von mir, die uns schon lange kennt. Allein das war schon unbeschreiblich! Die Stimmung war locker, frei, es wurde gelacht, gequatscht und getrunken. Genau so haben wir es uns vorgestellt!

Die Ringübergabe war der zentrale Punkt der Hochzeit. Unter einem kaputten Regenschirm hat mein Liebster mir den Antrag gemacht und unter einem kaputten Regenschirm tauschten wir auch die Ringe bei der Trauung. Es war durch und durch perfekt! Nach der Ringübergabe kam schließlich der Programmpunkt „Vorgetragener Text“ an die Reihe, unter dem Fritjof und ich uns ehrlich gesagt nicht viel vorstellen konnten. Zwei meiner Freundinnen erhoben sich von ihren Plätzen und lasen einen Liedtext vor, der unglaublich berührend und emotional war. Es ging um Freundschaft, um innige Liebe und um die Wünsche, die die Freunde uns mitgeben wollten. Schon beim Vorlesen bekam ich Gänsehaut.

Dann, wie aus dem Nichts, hörten wir aus dem Wald Musik, die immer näher kam… Fritjof und ich waren zuerst total perplex. Wo kam auf einmal diese Musik her? Dann drehte ich mich nach links und sah einen Musiker mit seiner Gitarre in der Hand aus dem Wald auf uns zu kommen und ich erkannte den Singer-Songwriter Perry O'Parson. Ihr müsst wissen, dass mein Mann und ich Perry O’Parson lieben und schon einige SofaConcerts von ihm besucht haben. Ich hatte sogar überlegt, ihn für unsere Hochzeit zu buchen, aber leider hatte er schon einen Gig! Jetzt war mir auch klar, warum!

In dem Augenblick, in dem er singend auf uns zu kam und genau das Lied sang, das unsere Freunde uns gerade vorgelesen hatten, war es auch um mich geschehen und die Tränen kullerten. Ich blickte mich um und sah, dass meine Schwestern, meine Eltern und meine Liebsten ein Strahlen auf dem Gesicht hatten. Unvergesslich schön!

Mit so einer Überraschung hätte ich im Leben nicht gerechnet. Eigentlich dachte ich ja, ich hätte den vollen Überblick über jeden Programmpunkt unserer Hochzeit – aber das hatte ich nicht kommen sehen! Unsere Familie und Freunde haben es doch tatsächlich geschafft, dieses ganz besondere Hochzeitsgeschenk vor uns geheim zu halten und es hat sich bis zum Schluss wirklich keiner verplappert.

Perry O'Parson blieb dann auch noch etwas da und sang während wir die Hochzeitstorte anschnitten. Wir konnten den Moment in vollen Zügen genießen, sangen und tanzten mit. Perry’s Auftritt hat meine Hochzeit und die grandiose Stimmung perfekt abgerundet! Jemanden einen so unvergesslichen Moment zu bescheren, ist das schönste Geschenk, das man einer Person machen kann. Der Moment war unbezahlbar und ich bekomme immer noch Gänsehaut und ein Lächeln ins Gesicht gezaubert, wenn ich daran denke!“

De retour aux sources

Dans quelques semaines, nous serons entraînés dans la folie de Noël, si elle n'a pas déjà commencé. Les lumières brilleront plus que jamais et les sourires seront gravés sur nos visages. Les rires et les voix feront écho dans nos maisons. Du moins, on espère que ce sera le cas pour toi J

Cependant, il y a une chose que l'on ne peut ni voir ni entendre, mais nous le ressentons tous. Ce sentiment lorsqu’on prend le temps, ce retour aux sources et la chaleur indescriptible qui vient à nous quand nous l’éprouvons ...

"C'est ici où je me sens chez moi !"

Une de nos ferventes hôtes, Sophie, nous a contacté pour l’aider à planifier son prochain Sofaconcert ; Sa belle-sœur vient pour Noël de Cape Town, son frère d'Heidelberg et tous ses amis rejoignent sa ville. Et alors, qu’est-ce qu’il y a de mieux comme occasion pour les surprendre avec un Sofaconcert ?
Et bien, tu nous connais maintenant ... Nous avons sauté sur l'occasion pour comprendre ce qu’est « se sentir chez soi » !

Sophie & son frère

Que ce soit avec son frère, les murs remplis de guirlandes de Noël et le bruit doux du bois qui crépite dans la cheminée ou en été, pour aider son père à réparer un canoé usé, la première pensée de Sophie est la maison de ses parents. Elle vient d'une ville magnifique, où il y a toujours quelque chose qui se passe et plein d'évènements à créer... Bienvenue à Hambourg :D ! Même si elle ne vit plus chez ses parents depuis quelques années maintenant, elle se sent toujours la bienvenue et peut y calmer son esprit. La pensée chaleureuse de savoir que quelqu'un est toujours là pour elle et qui l’accueille à bras ouverts. Là où tu peux être toi-même et te sentir en sécurité.

 « Tu sais, c'est comme quand tu connais une chanson par cœur et que tu peux la chanter à haute voix et tu oublies le monde autour de toi. » nous dit Sophie. Pour elle, "Oft gefragt" d'Annenmaykanterey décrit parfaitement le sentiment d'être à la maison.

Et c’est surement vrai. Ce sentiment que l’on a pendant Noël est spécial parce que nous prenons le temps de voir notre famille et nos amis. Et c’est ça le sentiment de se sentir chez soi, de revenir aux sources. C’est de sentir que malgré la distance ou nos occupations, à un moment de l’année le temps s’arrête et nous pouvons nous retrouver.

Tous tes amis d’enfance, d’adolescence se rejoignent pour cette occasion spéciale, qu’ils viennent de l’autre côté de la terre, ou la ville d’à côté. Utilise ce temps ! Ça n’arrive qu’une fois par an. Passez du temps ensemble, partagez des rires, des souvenirs… et pourquoi pas organiser un Sofaconcert pour réunir tout ce monde ? C’est ce que Sophie a choisi de faire cette année. Parce que l’on n’a pas cette chance tous les jours.

“ At first I wasn't sure if this was some kind of German birthday tradition …”

More and more international artists are joining us and use SofaConcerts for their tour across Europe, and so did Duncan Woods from Australia. As soon as Duncan registered on SofaConcerts he was enthusiastic to share his cheerful music with hosts around the world. His music reminded us of Jack Johnson and after a short period of time he confirmed his first gig. Duncan travels through Europe with his guitar and backpack for a couple of months every year to inspire people with his music. We met him at one gig in Hamburg and he told us about his different experiences with SofaConcerts. This story moved us in particular; so we don’t want to withhold it from you:

Duncan was invited to the home of a young couple in a small town of Germany where he had never been before. It was a warm summer evening. That same day Duncan played a gig in Nuremberg and was late to catch his train. However, he managed to get there with some delay and when he finally made it to Würzburg, nothing could go wrong anymore! The host’s father picked him up at the train station and brought him to the couple’s garden, where the concert was to take place.

Just a normal SofaConcert: a living room, some friends and an evening full of music. At least, this is what Duncan thought until then… But everything turned out differently ;)

When they entered the yard, there were beautiful lights hung up everywhere, small tents and benches. It was like in a movie; everything looked so beautiful and the people were lovely. Nevertheless Duncan had a strange feeling: he felt that something was going on, but thought that it was just a mixed feeling due to his delay. Everything was well prepared and it seemed like everyone was waiting for him to get things started. When Michael seemed a bit nervous Duncan thought it was just because of Maria’s special day – her birthday. He had no clue how special it would become…

Just as he was about to start playing he saw Michael getting down on one knee in front of Maria. This was the most awe-inspiring moment anyone could have had. The guests were gasping and looking at each other, all of them were surprised. After the first round of excitement was gone, everything went quiet; all eyes were on Michael and Maria, waiting for him. As an Australian, Duncan wasn't sure if this was some kind of German birthday tradition. The thing is Michael had kept his plan very secret from everyone including the musician.

“Maria, will you marry me?”

He had just popped the question. Michael was on one knee and looked at her expectantly. She couldn’t keep her emotions to herself and started crying as soon as the first words from Michael’s mouth were becoming real. She managed to spill the word with a trembling and tearful voice “Yes, I do!”. People began to cheer and congratulate the couple with so much joy! Afterwards, a bubble of happiness was covering the evening.

Then it was up to Ducan, to to recover from the surprise and kick the party off with his music and jumped straight into a set mashing up all the love songs he could think of into one medley. For him, being caught up in this moment with everyone and being able to add his music to the atmosphere was priceless. The proposal added a new ripple of excitement to the party. People were full of joy and buzzing to have been a part of this unforgettable occasion!

De plus en plus d’artistes internationaux se joignent à nous et utilisent SofaConcert pour leurs tournées à travers l’Europe, ce que Duncan woods d’Australie a fait. Dès son arrivée sur la plateforme Duncan était super enthousiaste de partager sa musique, qui par ailleurs nous fait penser à Jack Johnson. C’est donc sans surprise qu’il a confirmé son premier concert en un minimum de temps ! Duncan voyage avec sa guitare et son sac à dos tous les ans et inspire ses auditeurs avec sa musique. Nous l’avons rencontré lors d’un concert à Hambourg et nous a raconté avec passion ses expériences avec SofaConcerts. L’histoire qui suit en est une qui nous a particulièrement touchée, nous voulions la partager aussi avec toi :

Duncan a été invité par un jeune couple dans une petite ville d’Allemagne qu’il n’avait encore jamais visité. C’était un doux soir d’été. Ce même jour, Duncan a joué un concert à Nuremberg et était en retard pour son train. Cependant, il a réussi à arriver avec non trop de retard. Le père de Michael est venu le récupérer à la gare de Würzburg et l’a salué d’une chaleureuse poignée de main. Maintenant, le Sofa concert pouvait commencer : un salon, des amis et une soirée pleine de musique. Du moins, c’est ce que pensait Duncan jusqu’à ce que … tout devienne différent...

Lorsqu’ils sont entrés dans le jardin, des lampes magnifiques était suspendues aux arbres, des petites tentes et des bancs étaient aussi disposés. C’était comme dans un film ; un endroit super et des invités plus intéressant les uns que les autres. Cependant, Duncan sentait que quelque chose se passait, mais c’était surement dû à son retard. Tout était bien préparé et il semblait que les invités n’attendaient que lui pour commencer – Alors, que le spectacle commence… !

Ce soir était l’anniversaire de Maria, la copine de Michael (enfin…).

Ducan a rencontré Michael pour la première fois, il paraissait être une personne très sympathique, mais il semblait assez nerveux. Alors que Duncan accordait ses dernières cordes avant le concert, il n’y a pas porté tellement d'attention.

Il était donc prêt à jouer et les invités semblaient aussi dans l’attente de ce concert. Alors, c’est parti ! Une petite présentation et les premières notes retentissent. Puis viennent les applaudissements, les sourires sur les visages sont là – ça leur plait ! pense Duncan. Alors qu’il voulait reprendre pour sa deuxième chanson, Philippe se lève et se met sur un genou…

Hmm, sûrement une tradition allemande ! Duncan ne s’attendait pas du tout à ce qui allait se passer. Michael avait gardé tout son plan secret, personne n’était au courant.  Puis tout devînt silence, seulement les mots de Michael se faisaient entendre : « Veux-tu m’épouser ? » … Okay, ça,  Ducan pouvait comprendre même sans parler la langue ! Alors que tout le monde attendait la réponse de Maria, Duncan devait penser le plus vite possible à une chanson autre que celle qu’il avait prévue, autre que l’histoire d’un cœur brisé ! Vite, une chanson d’amour, une chanson d’amour…

Les invités étaient tous aussi surpris que Duncan. Tout le monde étaient bouche bée.

A ce moment, Duncan devait sortir de ce choc avant tout le monde pour continuer la soirée et jouer un medley de chansons d’amour. Pour lui, faire partie de ce moment et ajouter sa musique à l’évènement n’avait pas de prix. La demande en mariage a causé une vague d’excitation par la suite, les invités étaient heureux d’avoir faire partie de ce moment inoubliable !

« J’ai passé une superbe soirée avec les nouveaux fiancés et leurs amis, tu pouvais voir dans leurs yeux qu’ils étaient tellement contents d’être ensemble. Ca n’aurait pas pu mieux se passer. »

An extraordinary sofa concert with BOSSE!

Imagine you invite an unknown country artist to your living room…

…and then a pop star walks through the door – undercover!

This is exactly what happened to Conny and her guests.

It’s Friday night. In a cozy living room in the heart of Germany, twenty people have gathered to enjoy some great music with their friends and family. Conny, the host, has wanted to bring a sofa concert to her apartment for quite some time. The grey weather and the urge to see her friends have given her enough reason to invite one of our newcomers, Jimmy Folks, to her home. But let us take you back two weeks …

The atmosphere is thrilling. Everyone in the office is smiling and excited. Find something you love and then do it every day. Well, we found something we love - we love to surprise lovely people with great music and now it is time to do it again. The idea was finalized and we were ready for our next stunt. Our plan is to invite a well-known German pop star, dress him up as a country singer, and let him play a sofa concert “undercover” for a clueless host. Said and done. We all are extremely excited and just like that Axel Bosse walks through the door of our office. Cheerful and relaxed he introduces himself. “Let’s do this!” he says and then everything changed. Our office tables were exchanged for a dressing table, the grey sweater was now a checkered shirt and the cap, a country hat. 

In no time, Pia our make-up artist, turned BOSSE into Jimmy Folks. With the help of a fake beard, fake hair and a little bit of make-up, he now looked 10 years older. A new country star was born. The only thing missing was a profile on our SofaConcerts platform. A profile picture was quickly taken, some feedback was written by us, and our new artist of the week was chosen. Now patience was the key…We waited for two weeks when a call came in. “I just got booked!” shouted Aki alias BOSSE through the phone. Perfect!

19:45 pm – now back to Conny. The excitement in the room builds and soon the concert will start. But where is Jimmy? Ah finally! The doorbell rings and Conny opens the door. There he is. A friendly kiss on each cheek and off he goes in to the living room and quickly sets up the instruments. A short introduction is given of Jimmy, his pianist, and his guitarist and then he launches straight away into a classic: “Leaving on a Jet Plane”. His voice is beautiful and the harmonic sounds calm the guests. Almost everyone has their eyes closed and their feet start to tap to the rhythm of the music. 

“The next song is from Hamburg.” says Jimmy and the first chords begin. Some of the guests seem to recognize the song as it begins. The chorus starts and from the other side of the room you can hear whispers. “That’s not possible”. “The voice sounds so familiar” says another. Who would have thought a country musician could sound so much like BOSSE, the original singer of the song? Everyone is totally impressed. The voice is so similar and the moves too, but then again, he doesn’t look anything like BOSSE. Or does he?

Slowly Jimmy starts to undo his beard. Everyone is looking at each other. Could this be possible? No way. Next, the hair and the hat have to go. Is this real? Gasps, claps, shouts. WOW! This is not Jimmy. This is indeed BOSSE. Who would have thought the night would turn out like this? A well-known German artist in Conny’s living room – Conny and the guests sure didn’t expect anything like this. BOSSE is really here. They still can’t believe what is happening. He plays a few more of his own songs and after that he stays to talk to everyone and take pictures. No one in this living room will ever forget this night. It is a good thing we also have it on camera, so that you can see for yourself….

Aki you were the best, thank you so much for this great experience. It was a pleasure watching you become Jimmy Folks ;) We want to say a big THANK YOU to all the people who were involved in the making of this wonderful project. Only with the help of our accomplices was this was possible! You guys were amazing! J
